The first Hip Hop House in Minas Gerais and the only one in Belo Horizonte, it is a center for the development of social impact initiatives, a reference in the social assistance structure of the Taquaril neighborhood, located in the eastern region of Belo Horizonte, in Minas Gerais state, Brazil.
The Project
The Blcktopia is a free training course in Blockchain and Web3 for peripheral communities and aims to build economic and financial solutions for Brazilian communities.
Throughout the training process, the main themes of economic and organizational decentralization are developed, aiming at the development of social impact, cultural and small business projects.
Conjunto Taquaril
As we can see in the Municipality's Regional Master Plan, Conjunto Taquaril, with a population of over 20,000 people (PBH, 2012), is located in the eastern region of Belo Horizonte, has low accessibility to transport services, very low levels of basic sanitation and a low-income population.
According to the 2015 Belo Horizonte Youth Vulnerability Index, published by the municipal government, the east region, where Casa Hip Hop is located, is one of the most socially vulnerable regions in the city. The index measures, among other indicators, the school dropout rate, average household income, and the homicide rate among 15- to 29-year-olds.
This was the location chosen for the pilot project of the second chapter of Blockchain at School, taking the blockchain ecosystem beyond the classroom, reaching young people and adults from the periphery and stimulating the development of cultural knowledge, local projects and business and ventures local social.
