A project by Blockchain in School
We are an educational project focused on blockchain, aiming to develop real solutions for empowerment and social justice through tokenization and financial decentralization. Our focus is training young people for professional development on Web3, small businesses, artists, cultural agents and peripheral communities.
In 2023, our first edition focused on local artists at Casa do Hip Hop in the Taquaril favela, focusing in art and the local culture. In our second edition, we concentrated on educating youth aged 12 to 16 from Morro do Papagaio.
In June 2023, we initiated a special edition of Environment Week with the Recicla Kids project which employs recycling to teach children aged 6 to 12 about regeneration. Waste materials were tokenized, and the proceeds were allocated to the 'Eu Amo Minha Quebrada' project.

Blcktopia is a Refaz Brasil initiative, an educational project that brings Blockchain, Web3, and decentralized technologies to peripheral communities and other vulnerable social groups. We firmly believe that knowledge is a potent tool for empowerment and life transformation.
We employ regenerative and decentralized finance to develop our courses and bring about tangible transformations for our students and the people we reach
Web3 represents a fundamental shift in the utilization, sharing, and harnessing of network resources—a significant departure from established social paradigms. However, to truly establish itself as an instrument of emancipation, it must prioritize the inclusive engagement of diverse locations, individuals, modes of thinking, and languages.
We firmly advocate for the comprehensive engagement of entire communities, particularly those situated on the periphery, far from centers of power and participation. By facilitating access, we enable the conversion of their inherent creative potential and unique production systems into wellsprings of innovation, creativity, and revitalization.
Brazilian peripheral communities, including favelas, ravines, and hills, have borne the brunt of discriminatory policies stemming from a historical legacy of exclusion, structural racism, and marginalization—an issue in which even the Brazilian State has been complicit. These communities face significant deficits in terms of exclusionary policies, educational frameworks, and readiness for emerging technologies.

The project emerged in Belo Horizonte, and our first experience was carried out with artists and partners from Casa do Hip Hop, located in Conjunto Taquaril.

Next, it was Morro do Papagaio's turn, in partnership with the Movimento Eu Amo Minha Quebrada we did training with young people.

Recicla Kids: regenerative solutions for future
The favelas encompass a multitude of solutions, innovations, creativity, and human potential. Beyond the romanticized and preconceived notions of their potential, a closer examination of their dynamics reveals a perpetual state of flux.
Within these hillside communities, a multitude of businesses and small enterprises thrive, yet they remain largely excluded from conventional financial and managerial support mechanisms, despite operating in an economy that generates approximately US$ 24 billion annually. The undeniable characteristic of a creative economy is interwoven with a profound sense of social and collective responsibility, embodying substantial human potential. These attributes hold immense significance for the broader Blockchain community.
Similarly, local artists and creators, despite contributing to a distinctive cultural movement stemming from diverse peoples, ethnicities, knowledge, and traditions that enrich the national culture, encounter obstacles in cultivating their endeavors and sustaining their projects.
Our aspiration is to forge a link between Web3 projects and Blockchain protocols that genuinely possess the disruptive essence of nourishing diversity, integrating novel perspectives and viewpoints, igniting movement, and unleashing the forces of creation and innovation.

Multiplier Agents
We envision students taking on the role of Multiplier Agents, tasked with identifying and assisting individuals and businesses in seamlessly integrating into the project and the ecosystem. We firmly believe in leveraging the potential of education to empower students and community residents alike, thereby fostering employment prospects and nurturing a deeper interest in the expansive Blockchain realm. To realize this vision, we are committed to fostering the establishment of guilds or groups, designed to guide diverse segments of individuals and businesses toward their specific goals.
The Ecosystem
We pretend to build a platform where people can interact with each other and explore together the possibilities in the blockchain universe. Governed by a social token framework, our objective is to cultivate an integrated platform wherein members can contribute and access a myriad of services, encompassing social projects, arts, culture, and knowledge-sharing. The core aim is to foster a reciprocal exchange: whereby protocols and the market can tap into community opportunities, and conversely, members can readily access a spectrum of services.
